We celebrated Claire's Birthday two Sundays ago. The pictures aren't the best but the party was great! I made the pompom, birthday banner, & carnations. Her cake was a beautiful Peter Rabbit cake. We found out this week that I'm having another baby girl! We are very excited.

I've been trying to create a beauty regimen that works for me. I'm sick of always spending money on products that don't work well. So I'm writing these reviews to hopefully help others in their search for great products...

I was reading one of my favorite blogs Esme & The Lane Way & the lovely Marianne posted about her beauty routine. She uses & loves witch hazel & she has perfect skin. So I was at Whole Foods & came across Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel and had to try it (I haven't used toner since freshmen year in highschool). It's only $6 for a pretty big bottle. Thayers says that using their Rose Petal Witch Hazel will make your skin bloom & it really does! It has Vitamin E & Aloe Vera in it so it's very hydrating. Even though it's hydrating it still removes the excess oil you have on you skin & tightens pores. I love the smell (it's very rejuvenating & always cheers me up after I use it). My skin has never looked so smooth and even!

Thayers Natural Remedies has been around for some time. It was started by Henry Thayer M.D in 1847. The rose petal formula was actually made by Dr.Thayer's niece Rose. It was an all natural formula recipe for extra-soft, youthful-looking skin. As she aged, everyone would comment on how she looked 10 years younger than she was. This is Rose's secret blend & was recently made available to everyone. If you don't like the smell of rose Thayers has a ton of other witch hazels available at their online shop. They also have a sample pack of seven 2oz bottles for about $16.

Besame Vintage Boudoir Rouge in Sun Kissed Review

About 2 months ago I bought Boudoir Rouge in Sun Kissed from Besame Cosmetics. They have such beautiful packaging I just had to try something. It's vintage inspired & very romantic perfect for sitting on your vanity mirror or table. I decided on the Sun Kissed blush because I don't have many blushes & I needed something for summer. Sun Kissed ended up being perfect! It really makes your checks look sun kissed. I like to put a little sweep across my nose too. Very natural & gives your face a lovely glow. It's a pretty light bronze color without the orange tone that most bronzers have. Since it's not orangey like other bronzers it's perfect for us pale gals. I do think it would work on most skin tones though. The blush compact is tiny, but I really like the small size. The product is also very pigmented so a little goes a long way. The rouges are $15 a pop not bad at all for the quality & lovely compact with a little mirror. I highly recommend Besame. I can't wait to try some more of their products.

About a week ago I won this beautiful new with tags Corey Lynn Calter dress on eBay for only $24.00. There are a few more on ebay in various sizes for low prices. The dress was originally over $200 & it's from 2010. It isn't the modern non vintage loving girls style. I read a few reviews of the dress & they said it was to costumey. I love the style it looks very 30s to me. It is so pretty & romantic looking.

I bought these three beautiful clown sisters at an antique shop a few weeks ago. I love them so much. In person one is a peachy pink, one is lavender, & one is mint green. Three of my favourite colors. The sisters have the cutest sad little faces & tiniest little hands. They are also ballerinas. I like to imagine that they are princesses of some faraway place.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a little while. I was in a pretty bad car accident last week. Our car was totaled. My husband was driving & the baby & I were in the back seat. I'm the only one that was hurt. I ended up spraining my neck/back & my arm/elbow was badly bruised. I'm just happy it didn't end up worse & Claire wasn't hurt at all. I just love Mill Street Vintage shop on ebay. They always have such pretty clothes & the bidding starts out around $10. They also have a variety of sizes. I asked them in an email what their secret was to finding so many beautiful pieces but they never replied. I wonder if they have a physical shop too where they buy vintage from people & resell it. What ever they do it really works for them. Mill Street updates almost every Friday & their auctions run for about 6 days.

Yesterday I celebrated my 21st Birthday! I can't believe I'm already 21 years old! My daughter is turning one tomorrow. She was actually due on my Birthday but ended up being born two days after. This is my first real outfit post & I'm planning on doing them more regularly now. I've been putting them off because I still have yet to lose 20 extra pounds I've kept from my pregnancy. Silly! My wonderful husband Nicholas took the photos for me.

1. I've lived in four different states in my 20 years Louisiana, Oregon, Texas, &, Utah (I was born in Utah.) I'm currently living near the bayou of Louisiana, about 40 minuets outside of New Orleans (where my husband is from.) When we have both completed school, I'd like to buy an old house nestled somewhere with four seasons. Autumn is my favorite!

4. I love sweets, especialy ice cream, frozen yogurt, & gelato! I only eat fish, & I was a vegetarian for several years. ( I started eating fish when I was pregnant. I still eat it because I'm a nursing mother.)

5. I recently began collecting vintage atomizers, & other various vanity items. I'd like to collect teapots, & vintage rosary beads.

6. My dream is to be a professional photographer, & a poet.

7. I have a difficult time paying full price for shoes, clothing, or jewelry,

etcetera. I'll pay a little more for a vintage item if it is rare, & in great condition.

Victorian PostMortem & Mourning Photos

My fascination with the Victorian Mourning Era started when I was about 11 when I saw a postmortem photo in my history book. It really interested me, and I had to know why these pictures were taken. I used to think it was morbid but, now I realize it isn't. The postmortem photo was usually the only photo family would have to remember their deceased loved one. The first photo I posted is a widow in her mourning dress, c.1860s. The second photo is four crying women maybe daughters or sisters, c.1878. The third & fourth photo is of a deceased fireman who I'm guessing died in the line of duty. The last photo is of a deceased girl who is being propped up with a stand, & wires.

Yesterday we took a trip to the pumpkin patch! Baby Claire slept most of the time, but it was still a lot of fun! They had a petting zoo, & some country themed fall activities too. I think we may try to go to a corn maze soon.
